Private Security – Initial Arming – Semi-Auto

This is the approved 2-day training class for St. Louis County/City watchmen to become armed Security Officers and/or Couriers with a semi-automatic pistol.
Upcoming Courses

Officers are required to take a 2-day (16-hour) class before obtaining an armed license. This training consists of basic firearm safety, private security rules for handling of firearms, function, care, and cleaning of a semi-automatic pistol, and the fundamentals of marksmanship.

  • 300 rounds of ammunition (NOT INCLUDED)
  • 3 magazines
  • Duty Belt
  • Approved level 2 holster (see requirements HERE)
  • Magazine pouches
  • Closed toed shoes
Course Length:
16 Hours (2 Days)
Two people at an indoor shooting range; one is wearing headphones and aiming a handgun with red dot sight training, while the other, also with headphones, stands beside and instructs him in St. Louis.
